Van Gennep appoints Creative Folks to resell its succesful flatplanning products across the Australian Publishing market
Amsterdam, August 1st, 2007 – Van Gennep has signed a reseller agreement
with Creative Folks Pty Ltd.,
for sales of key modules from its successful planning, process and workflow
management products
across Australia and Asia Pacific. These modules include PlanMakerfE™ and PlanViewfE™, which will be
sold as plug-ins for Woodwing’s Smart Connection Enterprise™. In addition,
Creative Folks will also be
responsible for sales of Dolce Vita Plan™, Van Gennep’s flat planning,
stand-alone design tool, offering
small publishing companies and (freelance) creatives unique production
features and ease of use.
The combination of the Van Gennep and WoodWing products will provide publishers
in the Asia-Pacific
area with improved functionality to streamline publishing workflows, speed
up layout and copy
preparation, prevent mistakes and increase protection and simplification
of workflows.

PlanMakerfE and PlanViewfE, designed for both Macintosh® and Windows® platforms,
are modified
versions of the original PlanSystem3™ (Van Gennep’s own proven
planning, collaborative workflow and
process management system) modules, made available to users of Woodwing’s
Smart Connection
Enterprise.
As a scalable workflow solution providing tools to manage and track information
in any publishing
workflow, Smart Connection Enterprise uses PlanMakerfE’s edition planning
and workflow streamlining
functionalities to provide customers with time and money savings.
PlanMakerfE uses the Smart Connection Enterprise database as its own database,
eliminating the need for
a separate, additional, database: easy installation, no extra maintenance
costs and no synchronization
problems.... Installation of PlanMakerfE and its connection to SCE takes
less than an hour!
PlanMakerfE is an advanced, easy to use edition-planning tool, offering
Smart Connection Enterprise users
with real time space calculation, graphic status and element planning.
Users can now view publications
based on live previews, recognize conflicting pages before the publication
is completed, and view the
status of layouts, adverts and articles connected to the edition plan.
Multiple users can now also view the
same edition plans. The latest version includes additional features designed
to further simplify and
improve the accuracy of editorial production, like automatically placing
adverts in an advert layer.
Also available to Smart Connection Enterprise users, PlanViewfE provides
a read-only viewing capability,
enabling users to control access and content changes to an edition plan.
Users can browse plans, view
connected layouts with status information, and display all thumbnails with
a zoom function of up to
100%.
