Van Gennep unveils online job management module for new PlanSystem3™ v3.6.7 at IfraExpo
- Suite of product upgrades and user benefits to be launched
Amsterdam, October 5th, 2007 – At IfraExpo Vienna 2007, Van Gennep will unveil its latest ‘WebSolutions’ module for new version PlanSystem3™ v 3.6.7. As one of the markets leading planning, process and workflow management systems, the new WebSolutions module will add significant job flexibility and control to publishers and remote editors/contributors – streamlining the print production process and saving considerable time and money.
Van Gennep will also be announcing the availability of new folios and versioning features within PlanMaker, the flat-planning tool of PlanSystem3 v3.6.7, and demonstrating its full support and compatibility for the latest version of Adobe® InDesign®/InCopy® (CS3) and QuarkXPress 7. Additionally, Van Gennep will also introduce new versions of PlanMakerfE™ and PlanViewfE™, while providing a sneak preview of its next generation workflow management system, code named Polo.
Ton Van Gennep, Managing Director comments: ‘We are extremely excited about exhibiting at this years show. We have consistently developed almost all products within our portfolio, but it is the addition of our online module for new PlanSystem3 v3.6.7, that is expected to create the most attention. The benefits of this module are many, but essentially, it is the ability to remote manage and contribute to the production of publications, that will deliver the biggest gain.’
Offering improved functionality to streamline publishing workflows, PlanSystem3 v3.6.7 is designed to speed up layout and copy preparation, prevent mistakes and increase protection and simplification of workflows. New PlanSystem3 functionality within the WebSolutions module includes:
At IfraExpo 2007, Van Gennep will also introduce new versions of PlanMakerfE™and PlanViewfE™, based on the original PlanSystem3 edition planning modules, adopted for use with Woodwing’s Smart Connection Enterprise. As testified by its current users, PlanMakerfE has a superior user interface, making it easy to learn and adapt to the user’s needs. It is both easy and quick to install (less than an hour) and acts like a ‘plug-in-application’ to SCE. Crucially, PlanMakerfE™ also uses the SCE database to ensure data integrity, which by not requiring an additional database, significantly reduces costs.
As proof of PlanSystem3’s superior automation and integration compatibility, Van Gennep will also demonstrate how PlanSystem3 easily interacts with 3rd party solutions, including: Remote Director™ (a colour accurate monitor-based proofing system), StudioOnline™ (a web-based solution for image processing) and Wave’s MediaBank, FotoWare Studio and Ready4Print’s (PDF workflow tools).
Van Gennep will also show Dolce Vita Media Solutions™ at the show. As the first application from the Dolce Vita line, Dolce Vita Plan™ provides flat planning as a stand-alone design tool, offering small publishing companies and (freelance) creatives, unique production features and ease of use for a price every small publisher can afford.
Ton Concludes: ‘As always, we have listened to our customers and analysed the market to drive product development and ensure the delivery of systems that positively impact print production, for publishing. In demonstration of this, we will also be providing a preview of ‘Polo’, our next generation workflow management system, set to revolutionise content planning and process automation. We look forward to a successful show.’
