Van Gennep Launches New Versions of PlanMakerfE™ and PlanViewfE™ at IFRAExpo 2006
Amsterdam, October 9th, 2006 – Van Gennep launches new versions of
PlanMakerfE™ and PlanViewfE™, enhanced modules from the original
PlanSystem3™ publishing workflow solution, at IFRAExpo 2006. Available
to users of both Macintosh® and Windows® platforms, the modules have
been developed specifically for use as additional plug-ins to Woodwing’s
Smart Connection Enterprise. Users are now provided with remote connectivity
and automatic job creation, resulting in enhanced time and money savings.
Smart Connection Enterprise is a database driven production system, tailored
to meet the requirements of large workgroups and complex workflows.
PlanMakerfE (for Enterprise) is an advanced, easy to use edition-planning
tool, offering Smart Connection Enterprise users real time space calculation,
graphic status and element tracking. The latest version, shown at IFRAExpo
2006, includes additional features designed to further simplify and improve
the accuracy of magazine production, providing enhanced communication, production
control, efficiency, and time and money savings.
The improved version of PlanMakerfE allows users to:

Construct and maintain edition plans using drag and drop

Create layouts, adverts and articles from the edition plan

Import and place advertising lists

View publications based on live previews

View live statistics of advertising to editorial ratios

Be alerted to conflicting pages long before a publication goes to print

See the status of layouts, adverts and articles that are connected to the
edition plan

Benefit from automatic synchronisation of page numbers between the edition
plan and the Adobe® InDesign® pages

Be automatically updated on the number of pages in the InDesign layouts
Available for the first time to Smart Connection Enterprise users, PlanViewfE
provides a read-only viewing capability, enabling users to control access
and content changes to an edition plan. Users can browse plans, view connected
layouts with status information and display all thumbnails with a zoom function
of up to 100%.
